A MISSING SEQUENCE?
This section is pure conjecture on my part and would have to be, barring my being able to see every version of the film out there (which would be delightful).
It seems from the promotional materials (see below) that something was filmed on a set suggestive of the interior of the club Chat Noir which is seen in the film. This material featured Elona Glenn, Mary Millington, a couple of anonymous guys and an unknown blonde. And nothing in the two versions of the film I've seen correspond to the acts portrayed here.
Take these crops from two of the Italian posters for the movie (seen in full on the Ephemera page):

Here's Elona in an odd pose, being felt-up by two random guys.

At first I believed this was Elona in a very daring pose, but, upon looking at the eyebrows and the smaller breasts (and given the evidence below), I believe this is Mary. It's clearly the same set, however.
The next pics are from two consecutive 1977 issues of Cinema Blue magazine (the full pages are on view in Ephemera). They show pretty clearly that Mary is the woman on the poster above, but they also indicate there was a third woman being photographed there as well.

So you see. Same clothes, same chair. But the guy kneeling in front of Mary sure seems to be wearing the same shirt as one of the guys groping Elona in the poster uptop.
For that matter, Mary's shirt seems to be the same worn by Elona in the mystery photo in he topmost poster. Was this a fantasy of Elizabeth's where she imagined herself taking the place of sex performer Mary (she's not given a name in the movie)? Or just convenience during an afternoon's photo shoot?

And then there's this. She doesn't seem to be Mary and she's definitely not Elona. Is she just another of the dancers at the Chat Noir?
So, final analysis: is this an actual missing scene from Ceremony? Who knows. These could be promotional pics taken on the Chat Noir set - stuff that was shot just to take advantage of the location. But, all of the other promo photos I've seen connected to the film, in magazines, pressbooks, etc., are definitely representations of scenes from the film. So....
Unless I ever succeed in contacting somebody connected to the film, this will have to remain a mystery.

ELIZABETH: Goddamnit, I don't want to go home!
